Students: learning and handing in
A guide for students: study materials, follow the weekly plan, hand in assignments from your phone, take quizzes, join meetings and check grades and report cards.
This page shows students how each part of a course works. Open a course from Courses to start.
The course page shows your progress, how many materials you’ve opened and how much work you’ve done, what’s Up next and the schedule. Message teacher starts a chat with your teacher.
Materials
Open Content to see materials in the order your teacher set. Start here marks the first one and Up next the next. PDFs, slides, Word files and videos open right in the app; you can also download them. Each material shows Opened once you’ve looked at it.
The weekly plan
Some courses run week by week. You’ll see your overall progress and each week:
- This week: open, with everything to do,
- earlier weeks: done or still open (if your teacher allows going back),
- later weeks: Locked, with the date they open.
Assignments
Open it
From the course, Assignments in the top bar, or your dashboard. Read the instructions and any files from your teacher. The due date and how many points it’s worth are at the top.
Add your work
Depending on the assignment: Take a photo or Add a file, write your answer, or paste a link. Your work saves as you go.
Hand it in
Choose Submit. Check everything first: you can only hand it in again if your teacher allows it.
After the due date, an assignment is marked Late if your teacher still accepts late work, sometimes with points taken off. If your teacher returns your work, you’ll see what to fix and can hand it in again.
Quizzes
Before you start, you’ll see the number of questions, attempts, passing score, when it closes and any rules (a timer per question, no going back, no copy and paste). Some quizzes need a password from your teacher.
The quiz opens full screen. When you finish, you’ll see your score straight away, after the quiz closes, or after your teacher checks it, depending on the quiz. Practice quizzes let you choose how many questions and how long, and which questions to drill: any, ones you haven’t answered, or ones you got wrong.
Meetings
Meetings lists your classes. Reply Going, Maybe or Can’t make it. You can join from 10 minutes before the start: choose Join meeting and the call opens in a new tab (any passcode is copied for you). Joining through Kelasi marks you present. Missed one? The meeting page may have a recording and notes.
Your grades
Results › Grades shows:
- your overall average and how it moved over your last grades,
- a chart of your grades over time,
- each course with what’s graded, waiting for a grade and missing, and how you compare with the class,
- Feedback to read from your teachers, all in one place.
Report cards
Results › Report cards has one report card per term with your final score and grade in each course, attendance and your teachers’ comments. You can print it or save it as a PDF.
Getting help
- Ask in the course’s Discussions; classmates and your teacher can answer.
- Send your teacher a message.
- Check your notifications (the bell) for new work, grades and reminders.
