The question bank holds questions for the whole organization. Write a question once and reuse it in any quiz in any course. Open Teaching › Question bank.

Write a question

Choose New question or press N anywhere on the page.

  1. Pick the type: multiple choice, multi-select, true or false, short answer or essay.
  2. Write the question. If it looks like one already in the bank, Kelasi tells you and links to it.
  3. Add the answers:
    • Choices: press Enter to add the next choice, tap a letter to mark it correct.
    • Short answer: type each accepted answer and press Enter. Tick Case sensitive if capitals matter.
    • Essays have no answer key; you grade them by hand.
  4. Optionally Add explanation, set the difficulty (easy, medium, hard) and add tags.
  5. Choose Add question, or Add & write another (Ctrl Shift Enter) to keep going with the same type, difficulty and tags.

Find questions

  • Search questions and explanations.
  • Filter by type, difficulty and tags; click a tag on any question to filter by it.
  • Sort by Recently edited, Newest or Most used.
  • Show answers expands every question with its answer key.
  • Archived shows questions you’ve archived, ready to restore.

Select questions (Shift selects a range) to tag them, set difficulty, Add to quiz, archive or delete them in one go.

Paste or upload many at once

Choose Import CSV, or Paste or upload inside a quiz.

Paste text

Write questions the way you already do, then check the live preview:

1. What is the capital of Indonesia?
A. Bandung
B. Jakarta
C. Surabaya
Answer: B
Explanation: Jakarta has been the capital since 1945.

2. Which number is prime?
A. 4
B. 6
*C. 7
D. 9

3. Water boils at 100 °C at sea level.
Answer: True

4. What is the chemical formula for water?
Answer: H2O | H₂O

5. Explain why leaves are green.
  • Number each question, or leave a blank line between them.
  • Put choices on their own lines as A. B. C. (up to H), then add Answer: B, or put * in front of the right one.
  • No choices plus an answer makes a short answer. Separate other accepted answers with |.
  • Answer: True or Answer: False makes a true or false question.
  • A question with no answer becomes an essay.

Rows copied from Excel or Google Sheets work too, as long as the first row has column names.

Upload a CSV

Choose Download template to start from the right columns. Column names can be in English or Indonesian, and the type column is optional: Kelasi works it out from the choices and answer. Files can have up to 2,000 rows and 2 MB. In Excel, use File › Save As › CSV first.

Before adding, set Tags for every question, a default difficulty, and whether to Skip questions already in the bank. Problems are flagged per row (“Say which choice is right, for example Answer: B”) and those rows are left out; download the errors as a CSV to fix them.

Use bank questions in a quiz

From the bank, select questions and choose Add to quiz, then pick a course you teach and the quiz. Or from inside a quiz, choose From bank:

  • Choose questions by hand, with search and tag filters, or
  • Random set: say how many, and Kelasi draws them at random from the questions matching your filters that aren’t in the quiz yet. Every student still sees the same set.

Questions are copied into the quiz. Editing the bank later doesn’t change quizzes that already have them, so students’ past results stay correct.

Plan limits

The Gratis plan holds a limited number of bank questions; paid plans have no limit. If an import would go over the limit, Kelasi tells you how many will be added before you confirm. See plans, seats and billing.
